Original House/ Where we started: Thanks to the vision of Arietta Black and Alice Trotter, Hope Haven was chartered in 1976 and began operations in 1977, where it housed seven women. Today, we have four locations and serve over 300 men, women and families annually.
Arietta Black House: Named for one of the founders and located in University City, this permanent housing facility provides women who could not afford housing otherwise, a safe permanent housing option.
Charlotte Drive House: Located in Dilworth, this permanent housing facility provides men who could not afford housing otherwise, a safe permanent housing option.
Serenity House: Located in Concord, NC, this 10-bed residential aftercare facility provides rehabilitative services to chemically dependent men within a supportive environment, leading to independence.
Villages of Hope Haven: Located in the heart of North Charlotte, the villages serve as the corporate head quarters and main residential facility for over 150 men, women & families. It also houses a commercial laundry business and the “Taste of Hope” catering company.
