Substance Abuse Counselor – Families Program

Job Summary

Provide program services to residents of Hope Haven, Inc. in the Family program, under the direction and supervision of the Families Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Certification by the NCSAPPB preferred
• Associates or Bachelor degree in the Human Services field with two years minimum experience working in Substance Abuse and with families preferred
• Knowledge of the dynamics of the disease of chemical dependency and treatment
• Knowledge of community resources that support recovery
• Demonstrated commitment to the recovery principals and programs of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous
• Valid NC driver’s license

Major Responsibilities

• Provide counseling for clients through individual and group therapy sessions.
• Provide a structured environment with appropriate education and activities for parents/children of residents in the Families Program.
• Assist in all aspects of the Families Program and provide support to other departments when appropriate
• Maintain documentation of services in accordance with HHI policies and procedures and professional clinical standards.
• Responsible for transportation of clients to self-help group meetings/activities
• Work as a team member to promote the success of the organization as a whole.
• Provide heavy case management services for residents served.

Substance Abuse Counselor – Single Men’s Program

Job Summary

Assists the VP, Clinical Services in all phases of operation and implementation of policies regarding the program and is responsible for management of the program in the Supervisors absence.

Qualifications

• Certification by the NCSAPCB preferred

Offsite Food Service Workers

Job Summary

Hope Haven is now hiring for permanent full-time and part-time Food Service employees to staff an offsite food service kitchen and food truck. These are great opportunities for enthusiastic, energetic people.

Hours include a combination of weekends, morning, afternoon and early evening shifts. Must be available to work holidays.

Qualifications

  • one year food service experience

Hope Haven is a licensed facility, providing life skills for homeless, chemically dependent adults and families within a supportive residential environment, leading to a place of independence. Hope Haven has been providing services to people in early recovery since 1977, beginning with a small half way house for women in the Dilworth area.  Today, Hope Haven has four facilities, serving approximately 300 people per year, with the main campus located on North Tryon approximately 4 miles from uptown Charlotte.
