VP, Development and Community Outreach

 

Job Summary

To develop, organize and implement a comprehensive fundraising and donor management plan which will include general funding and donor development; Oversight of Development Department; Serve as a liaison to both the Corporate Board and Foundation Board.

 

Qualifications

  • BA in Marketing/Public Relations or equivalent fund raising/marketing experience (5 years experience preferred)
  • Experience working in a nonprofit agency required and HUD experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – must develop and make effective presentations
  • Development & implementation of a successful capital campaign
  • Experience writing technical grants
  • Thorough knowledge of corporate and community philanthropy
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Experience with budget management and tracking and analyzing outcomes
  • Expertise with Microsoft programs & social media, including Facebook, Twitter, etc.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Implement & maintain a comprehensive fund development plan
  • Oversee management of donor data base & website
  • Supervise Grant Writer & Community Outreach Department
  • Experience planning and directing a Capital Campaign
  • Create HHI’s Annual Report, working with the Community Outreach Department
  • Coordinate with Board and Staff on major fundraising events
  • Promote HHI, working with the Community Outreach Coordinator, to the media when appropriate

Substance Abuse Counselor Serenity House

 

Job Summary

Assists the House Manager in all phases of operation and implementation of policies regarding the program and is responsible for management of the program in the Supervisors absence.

 

Qualifications

  • Certification by the NCSAPPB preferred
  • Associates or Bachelor degree in the Human Services field with two years minimum experience working in Substance Abuse
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of the disease of chemical dependency and treatment
  • Knowledge of community resources that support recovery
  • Demonstrated commitment to the recovery principals and programs of Alcoholics
  • Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous
  • Valid NC driver’s license

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling for clients through individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Provide a structured environment with appropriate education and support of recovery for residents.
  • Assist in all aspects of the Serenity House Program
  • Maintain documentation of services in accordance with HHI policies and procedures and professional clinical standards.
  • Responsible for transportation of clients to self help group meetings and other appointments
  • Work as a team member to promote the success of the organization as a whole.

Catering Manager

 

Job Summary

Manage the Hope Haven, Inc. Catering Program, including all outside catering functions as well as the internal food service training program for residents.

 

Qualifications

  • 2 years of extensive catering experience or Sous Chef experience
  • Two years of college preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to provide training and leadership
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse, indigent population
  • Demonstrated commitment to the recovery principals and programs of Alcoholics

Major Responsibilities

  • Markets the Catering Services of Hope Haven, Inc.
  • Interact and communicate with customers to book functions and any follow up required, while providing a high level of service and professionalism
  • Manages and coordinates menu planning with VP of Food Services determining cost, variety, and quality of food.
  • Order and maintain stock of all products used by the Catering Dept.
  • Manages personnel, including coaching, directing and appropriate record keeping
  • Responsible for the financial management of the Catering Department
  • Maintains ServSafe Certification; has the ability to train food safety principles
  • Trains clients in the food service training program on all aspects of catering; sanitation, menu planning, presentation, customer service; set up and clean up/break down.
