Manage community engagement initiatives and provide support to the VP, Development & Community Engagement


  • BA Degree or equivalent volunteer coordination/marketing/media experience working in a similar position of authority
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems & Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to make presentations throughout the community to varied audiences (business leaders, community organizations, churches, philanthropic groups)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • If appropriate minimum two years of continuous sobriety
  • Maintain a valid NC driver’s license

Major Responsibilities

  • Manages Community Engagement initiatives as assigned including developing new partnerships with appropriate documentation & follow-up
  • Accurately tracks, maintains & communicates outreach & development event information
  • Manages media relationships & helps coordinate local press activities as appropriate
  • Manages recruitment & training of volunteer interns & manages interns & others at the request of VP; assists with recruiting, training & managing other volunteers as needed & approved by VP
  • Initiate monthly stewardship action plan with VP and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure key donors & volunteer groups are thanked in a systematic & ongoing fashion
  • Work with VP to create & execute systematic plan to increase volunteer engagement/catering sales/giving across faith community, corporations & individuals
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by VP, Development & Community Engagement
