Hope Haven Services

OVERVIEW

Hope Haven Clinical Services consist of five programs:

  • Women Levels I & II
  • Men Levels I & II
  • Co-ed Levels III & IV
  • Families Levels I & II
  • Level IV Independent Living

WOMEN/MEN LEVELS I & II

Hope Haven has 60 beds for Men Level I & II and 30 beds for Women Level I & II. This program is for the newly recovering addict and requires a 3 – 6 month stay minimum. Participants requesting admission into this program must:

  • Be residents of Mecklenburg County or one of the surrounding areas.
  • Have completed medical treatment for alcohol and/or chemical dependency within a year of admission
  • Be clean and sober a minimum of 72 hours prior to admission
  • Have a need for a structured residential aftercare program to continue their recovery process

After admissions and assessment, new Hope Haven residents are required to:

  • Attend a two-week new resident orientation session
  • Attend a minimum of four self-help group meetings per week
  • Receive individual and group counseling sessions as scheduled
  • If applicable, participate in a recommended Hope Haven workforce vocation training program
  • Upon training completion, become employed full-time and pay resident fees or, if disabled, volunteer and/or    attend school.

LEVELS III & IV

The Levels III & IV program provides extended aftercare services for residents with a minimum of six months sobriety. This program offers continuing support services for up to 60 women and men seeking to continue building a firm     recovery foundation. Residents in this program are expected to:

  • Stay in this program for a minimum of nine months with a maximum stay of 18 months
  • Be gainfully employed or a full-time student working part-time
  • Attend a minimum of three self-help group meetings per week
  • Attend individual and group counseling sessions as scheduled
  • Actively work on goals associated with post-Hope Haven independent living

FAMILIES LEVELS I& II

This program serves single parents (male or female) with children and married couples with children. Residents are placed in on-site apartment units (one or two bedrooms). Families requesting admission into this program must:

  • Be residents of Mecklenburg County
  • Have completed medical treatment for alcohol and/or chemical dependency within a year of admission
  • Be clean and sober a minimum of 72 hours prior to admission
  • Have children 14 years of age and younger living with them within four weeks of admission
  • Be 18 years of age and older

Upon admission into this program, residents are placed in on-site apartment units (one or two bedrooms).  Participants in the Families program:

  • Attend parenting classes
  • Receive family and individual counseling
  • Participate in specialized life skill training and development
  • Receive affordable housing referrals upon program completion

LEVEL IV INDEPENDENT LIVING

The Level IV Independent Program is located away from the Villages campus and provides affordable and permanent housing for graduates of Hope Haven. Currently, this program houses only men and is intended for residents who are ready to be independent, but still require affordable housing in a substance-free environment.
